At Houston International Airport, passengers can choose between Subway (the underground train) and Skyway (an elevated train).
Both trains connect all five terminals.
Skyway is an elevated train that allows passengers to move quickly between terminals. This is Airside Connection. The Skywalk Station is located on level 3 of each terminal. The elevated train system is 0.7 miles (1.1 km) long and runs along the north side of the building, outside of security.
The service works for free and every day, it also does not require re-registration. The elevated train connects terminals A, B, C, D, and E, providing an airside connection for people with connecting flights.
The metro is an underground train that allows visitors to move between A, B, C, D, and E terminals and the hotel. The system uses eight three-car trains, six of which run simultaneously at three-minute intervals at speeds up to 15 miles per hour (24 km/h). The metro station is located at the LL level. IAH Airport train departures are in pre-security areas. The train departs from the Airport Hotel Marriott and Terminals A, B, C, and D/E. The below-ground Subway train is free and operates daily from 3:30 to 00:30 and is closed from 00:30 to 3:30.
